RESOLUTION FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES; DEMAND RESPONSE SERVICES; DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICES; DEMAND ACTUATED SERVICES
WHEREAS, MCL 124.1 as amended provides that municipal corporations may contract with another entity to provide transportation services upon a demand-response basis; dial-a-ride basis; demand actuated basis; and
WHEREAS, Shiawassee Area Transportation Agency (SATA) has the ability to provide such transportation services to Bennington Township residents and tax payers at special prices;
WHEREAS, the cost for Bennington Township to own, operate, maintain and provide equivalent services, exceeds the townships financial ability; and
WHEREAS, interest has been shown and requests received from Bennington Township residents and property owners to enter into agreement with SATA to provide such services; and
WHEREAS, the Township Board, the general public, and SATA have discussed such services at length;
NOW BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Bennington Township enter into a contractual agreement as follows:
The term of such agreement run from March 1, 2009 through September 30, 2009;
The Township shall pay to SATA the sum of $3,222.05 for such term in consideration of discount contract rates for its residents, tax payers, as well as discount rates for Junior riders, Seniors riders and people with Disabilities and for the ability to schedule trips in advance and to schedule recurring trips.
The foregoing Resolution was made by Jim Forsythe and supported by Cindy Garber, to adopt the foregoing resolution.

The Supervisor declared the motion passed and the Resolution duly adopted.

I hereby certify that the foregoing constitutes a true and complete copy of a Resolution adopted at a meeting of the Township Board held at the Township Hall on February 2, 2009, that said meeting was conducted and public notice of said meeting was given pursuant to and in full compliance with the Open Meetings Act, being 1976 PA 267; that a quorum of the Board was present and voted in favor of said Resolution; and that minutes of said meeting were kept and will be or have been made available as required by said Open Meetings Act.
