The Bennington Township Planning Commission Meeting was held on May 28, 2009. President Rod Harmon called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm.
Members present: Bernie Scollan, Bill Nash, Dick Demerly, Al Dutcher, Donna Ash, and Rod Harmon.
Moved by Bill Nash to approve meeting agenda. Seconded by Dick Demerly. Motion carried.
Moved by Donna Ash to accept Minutes of April 23, 2009. Seconded by Dick Demerly. Motion carried.

Rod Harmon and Al Dutcher updated the board on Eddie Louch’s Special Land Use Application/Site Plan Review for Open Air Business – Nursery (to be operated at 2881 W. Bennington Road, Southeast corner of Bennington Rd. & M-52, Section 10 Bennington Township) progress in the Shiawassee County Site Plan Review Board Planning Commission. No Action taken.
The Board discussed Bradley Chamberlain’s (2950 S. M-52) dimensional variance request. The Shiawassee County Zoning Board of Appeals approved Chamberlain’s request. No action taken.
Moved by Bill Nash to reappoint Dick Demerly for another 3-year tern on the Bennington Township Planning Commission Board. Seconded by Bernie Scollan. Motion carried.
The Board reviewed proposed Text Amendments concerning campgrounds to the 1999 Shiawassee County Zoning Ordinance as amended. Moved by Al Dutcher to table any decision on the proposed Text Amendments. Seconded by Dick Demerly. Motion carried.
Moved by Dick Demerly to approve Matthew A. Dutcher, Kevin A. Dutcher and Allan D. Dutcher’s applications for Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program (applications #1131, 1132 and 1133). Seconded by Bill Nash. Motion carried.
Moved by Dick Demerly to nominate Russell J. Thomas III to the vacancy on the
Shiawassee County Planning Commission BoardBennington Township Planning Commission (corrected on 06/25/09) caused by the untimely death of Robert Schoch.
The next Bennington Township Planning Commission meeting date will be on June 25, 2009.
Moved by Dick Demerly to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 PM. Seconded by Bill Nash. Motion carried.
