BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

 

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on January 2, 2023, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.

Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.

Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the December 5, 2022 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Dutcher moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $73,176.03. Second by Forsythe.  All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Deputy Clapp- Gave an update of Township activities.
Co Comm Cindy Garber – Gave an update of County activities including the search for a new county administrator and the allocation of ARPA funds.

Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Gave a report on the District Library activities.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – Reviewed two variances, one lot line adjustment and approved the 2023 regular meeting schedule.

• Variance Application PZBA22-023 – Brain and Hollie Drake and Jed Dingens present.  Dutcher moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and recommend denial of Variance Application PZBA22-023 for Hollie Drake at Lake Manitou, Chippewa Path, Owosso, parcel #010-42-007-000 to allow the construction of a single-family dwelling which encroaches within the required 100ft. waterfront setback.  Second by L. Ash. Forsythe-yes, Baker- no, D. Ash- yes, L. Ash- yes, Dutcher- yes. Motion carried.
• Variance Application PZBA22-022 – Baker moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and recommend approval of Variance Application PZBA22-022 for Robert and Debra Morgan, 4861 Mohican Trail, Owosso, parcel #010-52-033-000 to allow the construction of a residential accessory structure that encroaches into the minimum side yard setback by approximately 4’. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
• Lot Line Adjustment PLLA22-029 – Baker moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and approve Lot Line Adjustment application PLLA22-029 for Stephen Fitzpatrick, 2125 Grand River Rd., Owosso, parcel #010-27-200-010 and #010-27-200-001-01. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
• Township Plan Comm meeting will be held on the last Thursday of each month except November 16, all meeting will be at 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.

Roads – L. Ash – Presented the board with the 2023 potential road projects for review.
