BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

September 6, 2022

 

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on September 6, 2022, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Lee Ash, Matt Dutcher, Jim Forsythe, Cody Baker, Donna Ash

L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with the addition of Audit Commits. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the August 1, 2022 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $119,869.01. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
8 residents from Ruess Road were present to state their opposition to their section of Ruess Road being paved.

Board Reports:
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Discussed the vacant seat on the commission. Interested residents can submit a letter of interest to the Township Board.
Roads – L. Ash – Gravel is not yet complete.

Old Business:
SEDP – D. Ash moved to accept an agreement for services from the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership for at $2000 for four years.  Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Township Park Planning – Discussion on the park plan. Will obtain bids for fencing and trail installation.
Audit Commits – Forsythe committed on the audit regarding revenue sharing amounts and bank balance exposure.

New Business:
L-4029 – Forsythe moved to approve the L-4029 and levy tax millage at .9211 for Operating, 1.0 for Fire and .08 for SATA. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Shia Co Drain Comm – Forming a Capital Project Planning Initiative
Poverty Exemption Resolution- Baker moved to make changes to the wording of the Poverty Exemption Resolution as printed. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried. (Poverty Exemption Resolution available at the Township Hall.)

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
