BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

April 4, 2022

 

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on April 4, 2022, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Lee Ash, Matt Dutcher, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.

Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Baker. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the March 7, 2022 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the March 7, 2022 budget hearing as printed. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $17,057.11. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Owosso Charter Township Fire Chief Ardelean gave an update.

Board Reports:

Planning Comm. – D. Ash – Recommended approval of one variance application, one SUP, one lot line adjustment, the reappointment of two commission members and approved the regular meeting dates to be the last Thursday of each month at 7:00pm unless  on a holiday. 

Library – Garber – Updated the board on activities.

County Comm. – Garber – Updated the board on county activities.

Roads – L. Ash – 2022 Potential Road Projects. Baker moved to approve the 2022 road projects as presented.

Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Old Business: None

New Business:

Lawn Care Contract – L. Ash moved to accept the lawn care bid from G & W’s Family Lawn care LLC for a three year term at a cost of Alton Cemetery $130/mow, Howard Cemetery $65/mow, Oakwood Cemetery $145/mow, Hall $160/mow, spring clean up $300, fall clean up $375 and lawn rolling $400.  Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

SATA Millage Renewal – Baker moved to place the SATA Millage renewal request on the August 2, 2022 ballot asking to levy up to .3333 of a mill for a four year term beginning winter of 2022. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Pole Barn Removal – Discussion to get bids to remove the pole barn and the two houses on the Township property. 

Township Clean Up Day – No action was taken to have a Township clean up day this year.

Farmer Market – No action was taken to have a Farmers Market at the Township this year.

2021 -2022 Budget Changes – D. Ash moved to amend the 2021 – 2022 budget by transferring $1500 from 101-101-900.000 Publishing & Printing to 101-101-873.000 Pension Fund. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried. D. Ash moved to amend the 2021 -2022 budget by transferring $400 from 101-276-930.000 Repair & Maint. To 10-276-800.000 Interment. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
