BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

 

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on February 7, 2022, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall. 

Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.

L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with the removal of Website Proposal. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the January 3, 2022 regular meeting as printed. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $24,254.94. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Co Comm Garber gave an update of County activities.

Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Update.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – No meeting.
Roads – L. Ash – 2022 potential road projects were received from the County.

Old Business: None

New Business:
Charter Township Eligible – Reviewed information, no action taken.
VMD & Associates Audit Contract – Forsythe moved to accept the contract from VMD & Associates to perform the 2021 -2022 audit for the Township at a cost of $5375.00. Second by Baker. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Payment Policy – Reviewed, no action taken at this time.
Board of Review Dates – Dutcher moved to adopt a resolution for the Board of Review to set an alternate date for the March board of review first taxpayer appeal meeting, for the meetings to be held Tuesday March 15 and Wednesday March 16. Second by Matt Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.  (Complete wording of resolution available at the Township Hall.)
Poverty Exemption Resolution – Forsythe moved to adopt a resolution for poverty exemption income guidelines and asset test for 2022. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried. (Complete wording of resolution available at the Township Hall.)
2021 – 2022 Budget Changes – L. Ash moved to amend the 2021 -2022 budget as presented.

2022 – 2023 Budget – Reviewed for presentation at the next regular meeting on March 7, 2022 with the Budget hearing immediately following.
