December 6, 2021
The Bennington Township regular meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on December 6, 2021, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash.
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Baker. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the November 1, 2021 regular meeting as presented. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $22,690.72. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Battalion Chief Mike Thornburg from Owosso Township Fire gave an update.
County Commission Cindy Garber gave an update.
Board Reports:
Library – Garber – Updated the board.
Plan Comm. – D. Ash – November meeting did not have quorum.
Roads – L. Ash – County is currently working on recommended projects for 2022.
Old Business:
Shiawassee County S.H.O.T.- Board reviewed the invoice received.
New Business:
Insurance Renewal – Forsythe moved to approve the renewal of the Township liability and property insurance with Burnham & Flower as presented at a cost of $6473.00. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Pole Barn – Discussion of the removal of the houses and pole barn on the Township property to the north.
Brush Removal – Two bids received to remove additional brush from the new property. Forsythe moved to accept the bid form JJ’s excavating & Tree Services at a cost of $900 to remove all bushes in back yard, clear out some smaller trees, haul brush away and make sure root ball form bushes are tore out. Second by Dutcher. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe gave an update on the .gov web.
L. Ash moved to adjourn. Second from Forsythe. Motion carried.
