September 1, 2020
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on September 1, 2020, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Donna Ash
Not Present: Cody Baker
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the August 3, 2020 regular meeting as printed. Second by Dutcher. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve bills to be paid in the amount of $41,636.48. Second by Dutcher. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment: None
Board Reports:
Plan Comm – D. Ash- Recommended approval of one lot line adjustment. Forsythe moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and approve Lot Line Adjustment #PLLA20-028 for Andrew & Amanda Steiger. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Roads – L. Ash – Road projects are complete. There is a need for tree trimming, will look into for this winter.

New Business:
Township Property- The Township has received two inquiries into the vacant land on M-52. The Township will evaluate the future plans for this site.
2019 – 2020 Audit – Forsythe moved to approve the 2019 -2020 Audit, Letter of Recommendations and the Management letter from VMD & Associates . Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
L-4029- Forsythe moved to approve the L-4029 as presented and levy millage rates for for Township Operating at .9525 mills, Fire at 1.0 mills, and SATA at .10 mills. Second by Dutcher. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Cemetery Tree Removal- Forsythe moved to have Greg Weinert’s Tree Service provide tree removal and maintenance in Howard Cemetery at a cost not to exceed $3700.00. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Budget Review/Adjustments – Forsythe moved to make adjustments to the 2020-2021 budget as presented: Move $100 from 101-000-900 Publishing & Printing to 101-101-816 Township Hall Dues, move $300 from 101-191-970 Election Capital Outlay to 101-191-730 Election Stamps, and add an additional $20,000 to 101-215-957 Clerk Misc/Computer Training. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
