BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

July 6, 2020

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on July 6, 2020, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.

Present: Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Cody Baker, Donna Ash
Not Present: Jim Forsythe

L. Ash moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Dutcher. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to approve the minutes for the June 1, 2020 regular board meeting and the June 29, 2020 special board meeting as printed. Second by Baker. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Baker. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $66,503.48. Second by Baker. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Co Comm Cindy Garber – Updated the board of County activities.
SSESA Fire Chief Guy Hubbard – Spoke to the board about the interest in having a Perry Substation at Bennington Township Hall.  Gave an update of the SSESA activities. Discussion of Bennington Township hosting a First Aid/CPR class.  Informed the board of an increase to the SSESA Ambulance per household rate from $45 to $65.

Board Reports:
Library – Garber – The Library is now open.
Plan Comm – D. Ash – Recommended approval of two land division/lot line adjustment applications and reappointment of one Commission member.

Roads – L. Ash –Gave an update on the 2020 Road Projects.

Old Business:
Cemetery Fees – Dutcher moved to change the Cemetery Fees to:

Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

Hall Parking Lot – Dutcher and L. Ash will check with some contractors regarding the repairs needed to the Hall parking lot.

New Business:
Ambulance Special Assessment - Dutcher moved to have a public hearing for an Ambulance Special Assessment on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 7:00pm for the households south of Garrison Road covered by SSESA and 7:30pm for households north of Garrison Road covered by MMR at the Township Hall, the Special Assessment will be for a term of four years at a rate of $65.00 per household for the area coved by SSESA and $45.00 per household for the area covered by MMR. Second by Baker.  All board members present in favor.  Motion carried.
Farmers Market- Dutcher moved for Bennington Township not to host a Farmers Market this year due to the current COVID-19 concerns.  Second by Baker. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
SATA Commitment – Dutcher moved to contract with SATA for services from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021 for an amount not to exceed $15,532.07. Second by Baker. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

L. Ash moved to adjourn. Second by Dutcher. Motion carried.
