August 5, 2019
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Clerk Donna Ash on August 5, 2019, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Not Present: Lee Ash.
Forsythe moved to appoint Clerk Donna Ash as chairperson in the absence of the Supervisor. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the July 1, 2019 regular board meeting with the correction of Sylvia being misspelled. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Dutcher moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $95,300.69. Second by Zdunic. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Peggy Lidgard – Introduced herself as interested in the Assessor position.
Board Reports:
Plan Comm- D. Ash – Recommended the Board adopt a resolution to opt out of Recreational Marijuana.
Forsythe moved to table the Recreational Marijuana Ordinance until the next regular meeting. Second by Zdunic. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Unfinished Business:
Parking Lot Repairs – Dutcher will work with L. Ash to come up with a resolution to the problem.
New Business:
2018 – 2019 Audit – Forsythe moved to approve the 2018 -2019 Audit with a clarification of the header on page 25 and the State Share Revenue amounts on pages 6 and 25. Second by Zdunic. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Audit Recommendation Letter - Forsythe moved to approve the Management letter for the 2018 – 2019 Audit. Second by Dutcher. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Assessor Resignation – Forsythe moved to reluctantly accept the resignation from Assessor Steve Schweikert effective July 31, 2019. Second by Dutcher. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to have the Township seek a qualified individual to fill the assessor position for Bennington Township, with resumes being reviewed at a special meeting held on August 20, 2019, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Co Comm – Cindy Garber – Updated the board on the county.
Library – Garber – Update.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
