BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

 

 

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on January 7, 2019, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.

Present: Jim Forsythe, Matt Dutcher, Lee Ash, Donna Ash.
Nancy Zdunic not present.

Forsythe moved approve the agenda as printed. Second by Dutcher. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the minutes for the December 3, 2018 regular board meeting and the minutes for the December 17, 2018 special board meeting as printed. Second by Dutcher.  All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report – No report at this time. Will have a report for the next meeting.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $28,942.26. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

Public Comment:
Shiawassee County Road Commission – Brent Friess, Managing Director, presented the board with the proposed 2019 road projects. Commissioners Mike Constine, John Michalec and Ric Crawford were also present.
MMR – Matthew Kehm presented the board with the stats from November 2018.
Co Comm Cindy Garber gave an update to the board.

• Forsythe moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and recommend approval of variance application #PZBA18-019 for Willis & Jill Semans to allow a private solar energy system that encroaches the required forty (40) feet property line setback located on W. Bennington Rd., Owosso, parcel #0101-11-200-002-04. Second by Dutcher. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
• Dutcher moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and recommend approval of SUP application #SUP18-10 for Gary & Lisa Adams for an Agricultural tourism and Entertainment Establishment on W. Bennington Rd., Laingsburg, parcel # 010-07-100-002 and #010-07-100-001-01. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

Roads – L. Ash – Previously discussed.

New Business:
Board of Review appointments- Forsythe moved to appoint Donald Koski, Gary Jacobs and Craig Killian to the Board of Review for a two year term expiring December 31, 2020. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
Salary Resolution – No action taken.
Budget Hearing – Forsythe moved to have the Township Budget Hearing on February 4, 2019, immediately following the regular board meeting. Second by Dutcher. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.
March Meeting – Forsythe moved to change the March regular meeting date from March 4, 2019 to March 11, 2019, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall. Second by L. Ash. All board members present in favor. Motion carried.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
