September 1, 2016
The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on
September 1, 2016, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda with additions. Seconded by L. Ash. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes as printed for the August 1, 2016 regular board meeting. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve payment of the bills as presented in the amount of $26,047.66 with a hold on the payment to Kickin’Asphalt until the project is complete. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Board Reports:
Library – Garber - No Report
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Approved one land division and completed the Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey. Forsythe moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and approve Land Division Request # PLD16-0022 by David Corder of 7842 Clarks Cove, Addison, MI 49220. Property Owner is Ceres Farms LLC, 1251 N Eddy St., Suite 200, South Bend, IN 46617. Property Location is 8410 Beardslee Rd., Owosso, MI 48867, Parent Parcel # 78-010-31-100-001. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried. Forsythe moved to submit the Shiawassee County Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey with the Township Planning Commission recommendation of a "Low Priority" for all 13 categories. Seconded by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Roads – L. Ash – Update.
Web Page – Forsythe – Update. Forsythe also notified the board that he would no longer provide the Township with web support at the time his term ends on November 20, 2016.
Unfinished Business:
Front Doors- No action taken
AED – Zdunic moved to purchase an AED (automated external defibulator) for placement in the Township Hall including a mounting case as a cost not to exceed $1,600.00. Seconded by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
New Business:
2015 - 2016 Audit – The Township had questions regarding the audit.
L-4029 – L. Ash moved to submit the L-4029, 2016 Tax Rate Request, for Bennington Township with the Millage to be levied at the rate of 0.8618 mills for Operating, 1.0 mill for Fire, and 0.07 mills for SATA. Seconded by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Charter Communications – Township received notification that Charter Communications intents to renew the Franchise Agreement with Bennington Township.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Seconded by L. Ash. Motion carried
