The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order on August 6, 2012 by Supervisor Lee Ash at 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the July 9, 2012 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
No Treasurer’s report the computer is not working.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $27,803.98. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Sherriff- Deputy Jason Duffield gave an update on activity in the area.
Library- E. Humphrey- Update. The minutes were not yet available.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Review of Master Plan, Review of two County text amendments, Review of a Land Division Ordinance.
Roads- L. Ash- Update.
Web Page- J. Forsythe- Update.
Unfinished Business:
Consumers Energy- Fred Bond- Discussion of connecting the Township Hall to natural gas. Forsythe moved to have Consumers Energy connect the Township Hall to natural gas at a cost of $200.00 with the ability to either not have the meter set until use began or to hold off installation until late fall to avoid meter fees. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to authorize the Supervisor to work with a heating contractor to set up the conversion of the three furnaces and the indoor plumbing of the natural gas. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
New Business:
Bank Approval- Forsythe moved to approve Chase Bank in Vernon for a financial institution for the Township. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Fund Account Interest- Zdunic moved to have the interest received from the Fire Fund, Ambulance Fund, SATA Fund and the Cemetery Fund to remain with the existing fund. Second by Garber. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Excel Training- Discussion of the Treasurer and Clerk attending training for the Excel computer program.
Asphalt Repairs- Two quotes were obtained for repairs to the asphalt. E.Z. Asphalt L.L.C.: Parking lot- $3690.00, Alton Cemetery- $1088.00, Oakwood Cemetery- $1385.00. Kickin’ Asphalt: Parking lot- $1017.50, Alton Cemetery- $573.03, Oakwood Cemetery- $654.75. Forsythe move to accept the quote from Kickin’ Asphalt to repair the asphalt cracks in the parking lot, Alton Cemetery and Oakwood Cemetery at a total cost of $2245.28. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
