The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on November 7, 2011, 7:00pm, at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with the addition of Farmers Market. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the minutes for the October 3, 2011 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Forsythe moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $31,331.75. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Ed Franks- Questioned the procedure for zoning changes at the County Zoning Office and if the Township has any part of the approval process. D. Ash stated that the Township reviewed all text amendments to the County Zoning Ordinance and gave a recommendation to the County.
Shiawassee County Road Commission- Lonny Latunski- Present to answer some questions regarding chip and seal projects within the Township. Also, requested the boards consideration of paying for a crack fill project within Bennington Hills that was incidentally done without approval by the Township.
Payment could be made next year, for next year’s budget, at the price of this year, $8,180.00.
Board Reports:
Library – Ed Humphrey- There was no meeting in October.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- DEQ has approved the Floodplain application and has sent it to FEMA for approval. The Comm. approved participation in the County Hazard Mitigation update. The Comm. approved a land division approval for McNeill. Forsythe moved to concur with the Township Planning Commission and approve one land division for Onalee McNeill on parent parcel #78-010-24-200-004. Second by L. Ash. All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Unfinished Business:
Hall Parking Lot and Cemetery Snow Removal- Three bids were received. Jerry Gutting: $65.00/parking lot plow, $65.00/salt application, $60.00/hour cemetery plow. Sunburst Gardens, Inc.: $48.00/parking lot plow, $85.00/salt application, $45.00/hour cemetery plow. R&M Snow Removal Inc.: $60.00/parking lot plow, $57.00/salt application, $45.00/hour cemetery plow. Forsythe moved to accept the bid from Sunburst Gardens, Inc. at a price of $48.00/parking lot plow at 2 inches, $85.00/salt application upon request, and $45.00/hour cemetery plow upon request. Second by Zdunic. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Farmers Market- Garber- The season is complete. Had up to 11 vendors at one time.
New Business:
MTA County Annual- Garber moved to have the Township pay the cost of board members to attend the MTA County Annual Meeting at a cost of $11.00/person. Second by Forsythe. All board members in favor. Motion carried.
F-65 Notice of Delinquency- Township received a letter from the State of Michigan indicating that the Township was Delinquent on filing the F-65. D. Ash stated that she had contacted Demis & Wenzlick of the Notice and was assured that it had been completed and sent and requested a letter stating such.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
