The Bennington Township rescheduled regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on August 9, 2010, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.
Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.
Forsythe moved to approve the agenda with additions. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Garber moved to approve the minutes for the July 5, 2010 regular board meeting and the July 14, 2010 special board meeting at printed. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
L. Ash moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Forsythe moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $24,161.25. Second by Garber. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Public Comment:
John Hurd- Commented on the web site and postings not being on time.
H. Sparks- Co. Comm. Update.
Dale Roszman- Co. Comm. Candidate.
Board Reports:
Library- E. Humphrey- No meeting because there was no quorum.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Reviewed text amendment changes to the County Zoning Ordinance.
Roads- L. Ash- Work on roads continues at the expected rate.
Web Page- Renewed the web site for an additional year.

New Business:
Website renewal- Garber moved to renew the website for one year and reimburse Jim Forsythe for the incurred expenses of $30.46. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Propane Bids- Blight at $1.649 and Applebee’s at $1.639. Forsythe moved to accept the bid from Applebee Oil Co. at a cost of $1.639 per gallons for 2000 gallons. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Remonumentation- Forsythe moved to approve $1,000.00 for additional Remonumentation within the Township. Second by Garber. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Ballot Wording- Forsythe moved to approve the ballot wording to be placed on the November 2, 2010 General Election ballot for SATA with the wording to state “Shall Bennington Township levy up to .15 mills, each year for a term of four (4) years (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) for the purpose of providing public transportation within Bennington Township, at a reduced cost. It is estimated that if the entire millage is levied that in the first year the township will receive $14,000.00.” Second by Zdunic. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Forsythe moved to approve the ballot wording to be placed on the November 2, 2010 General Election ballot for Library Withdrawal with the wording to state “Shall Bennington Township withdraw from the Shiawassee District Library, effective December 31, 2012?” Second by L. Ash. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Property Purchase- There are some problems with the property purchase approved by the board Attorney Lynn Bowne is working on these problems. Zdunic moved to pay the bill for the land survey done by Landmark Surveying at a cost of $500.00. Second by Garber. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Lawn mowing- Forsythe moved to pay the bill from Twin Oaks for the weed control lawn mowing to 1987 W. Grand River Road at a cost of $150.00. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Hall Rental Request- A request to rent the hall was received for use of a craft show from a non resident. The Township hall is rented to Township residents or property owners only.
Policies and Procedures- Forsythe attended a workshop regarding policies and procedures and gave a report to the board. L. Ash moved to reimburse Jim Forsythe for expenses incurred for the Policies and Procedures workshop at a total cost of $227.30. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by Garber. Motion carried by unanimous consent.
