BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP
Regular Board Meeting

June 7, 2010

The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on June 7, 2010, 7:00pm at the Township Hall.

Present: Jim Forsythe, Cindy Garber, Lee Ash, Nancy Zdunic, Donna Ash.

L. Ash moved to approve the agenda with the addition of M-52 Garage Sale. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried.

Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the May 3, 2010 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Forsythe. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

L. Ash moved to approve the minutes for the May 12, 2010 special board meeting as printed. Second by Garber. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Forsythe moved to approve bills to be paid as printed in the amount of $32,837.93. Second by Garber. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Public Comment:

Ben Glardon- 85th District House of Representative Candidate.

H. Sparkes- Co. Comm. Update.

Mr. and Mrs. Bromley- Would like the Township Board to consider a Nuisance Ordinance that would regulate cats.

Board Reports:

Library- Minutes on file.

Plan Comm.- D. Ash- No Report.

Roads- L. Ash- All contracts are signed except for tree removal and brush spraying.

Web Page- Forsythe- Update.

SSESA- Lieutenant C. Nickels- Update. April 2010, 1 fire, 5 ALS, 2 no transports.

Unfinished Business:

Library Options- Garber moved in order to provide the residents of Bennington Township with the option to exercise their right of withdrawing or remaining with the Shiawassee District Library to have the issue placed on the November 2010 election ballot where the residents can then vote and decide if they wish to withdraw or not. Second by Zdunic. Roll call vote: Forsythe- Yes, L. Ash- Yes, Zdunic- Yes, D. Ash- Yes, Garber- Yes. Motion carried.

M-52 Garage Sale- Discussion on this topic.

New Business:

SATA- Review information and place on the agenda for next month.

MTA- Policy and Procedures- Zdunic moved to pay for any board members who would like to attend the workshop at a cost of $109.00 per person and $31.50 for a book. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Forsythe moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
