The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on October 1, 2007, 7:00pm at the Bennington Township Hall.
Present: Ray Wirth, Nancy Zdunic, Lee Ash, Gerald Sayles, Donna Ash.
Sayles moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Wirth. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the September5, 2007 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Sayles moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Sayles moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $34,205.33. Second d by Zdunic. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR:
H. Sparks- Co Comm Update- A $4000.00 special assessment for Bambi Lake will move to Committee of the Whole. 2007 Drain Assessments were approved.
T. Smith- Questioned Comm. Sparks as to if the County now recognized his pit as a legal pit. Sparks indicated that she had seen no official paperwork form the County Board of Appeals as to this statement at this point in time.
BOARD REPORTS:
Sheriffs Dept - C. Carson- Update. Report on file.
Ambulance/Fire- LSW report on file.
Library- F. Gregory- Report on file.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Recommended approval of two land divisions for K. Demoran. Sayles moved to concur with the Planning Commission and approve two land divisions on parent parcel 78-010-22-100-003 for Kathy Demoran. Second by L. Ash. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Outdoor Ashtrays- No new information.
NEW BUSINESS:
Alton Cemetery Bid- Brush Removal- Zdunic moved to accept the bid from Weinert’s Tree Service to remove Spirea Bushes and two other bushes, trim Maple Trees and trim vines at a total cost of $1535.00. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Howard Cemetery Bid- Brush Removal- Sayles moved to accept the bid form Weinert’s Tree Service to remove u's (corrected 10/1/07: Yews), trim Pine and Mulberry at a total cost of $350.00. Second by L. Ash. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Alton Cemetery Bid- Grave Stone Replacement- Sayles moved to accept the bid from Bennett Construction to reset grave stones at a cost of $15.00/small stones and $50.00/large stones in Alton Cemetery with Gene Roys and Lee Ash overseeing the project. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
L-4029- Sayles move to levy millage for Bennington Township at 0.8705 mills for Operating and 1.0 mills for Fire. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
MTA Meeting October 6, 7:30pm at Caledonia Township Hall, Bennington Township Hosts.
Sayles moved to adjourn. Second by Wirth. Motion carried.
