The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on March 5, 2007, 7:00pm at the Bennington Township Hall.
Present: Ray Wirth, Nancy Zdunic, Lee Ash, Gerald Ash, Donna Ash.
Wirth moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Sayles. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to approve the minutes for the January 2, 2007 regular board meeting as printed. Second by Zdunic. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the February 3, 2007 special board meeting as printed. Second by Sayles. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the February 21, 2007 special board meeting as printed. Second by Sayles. Motion carried.
Sayles moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $14,939.07. Second by L. Ash. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR: None
Shiawassee County Road Commission Presentation- Manager Lonny Latunski along with Board Members Dick Miller, Steve Zemcik, Mike Miller Constine and Superintendent Brent Friess were present. Latunski gave a report and presented the Township Board with a revised list of 2007 - 2008 road improvement projects.
BOARD REPORTS:
Sheriffs Dept- C. Carson- February 2007 report on file.
SSESA- B. Jackson- January- 2 MFR, 4 ALS, 2 BLS, 2 no transport
Library- F. Gregory- Report on file.
Plan Commission- D. Ash- Reviewed a text amendment proposal. Approved 2007 -2008 budget.
Web Site- J. Forsyth- Report on file. 194 visitors to date. Web site has been in place for seven months.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Cemetery Signs- L. Ash is working on obtaining signs.
Cable Service/Internet- This will be taken off the agenda until there is more interest.
Soil Erosion Permit- Benn. Twp applied for a Soil Erosion Permit as requested by the Health Department. The Health Department determined after the application was reviewed that there was no permit required.
NEW BUSINESS:
Plan Commission Board Representative- Sayles moved to reappoint Clerk Donna Ash as the Board Representative on the Planning Commission for a three year term expiring in April 2010. Second by Wirth. Motion carried.
PMSA Building Loan- The Loan for the PMSA building is due in April of 2007. Bennington and Woodhull Twp are currently working on the means to pay off the loan as the building has not been sold as this time.
2007 - 2008 Regular Meeting Dates- Sayles moved to hold the regular meetings for the Township on the first Monday of each month, unless the first Monday is a holiday, in which the meeting will be held on the next available date. All meetings to be held at Bennington Township Hall at 7:00pm. Second by D. Ash. Motion carried.
Sayles moved to hold a special meeting on March 28, 2007, 10:00am at the Bennington Township Hall to pay end of fiscal year bills and to finalize the preliminary budget. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to pay for interested board members to attend the MTA workshop on Michigan’s New Cable Franchising Law at a cost of $70 per person. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Sayles moved to adjourn. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
