BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

NOVEMBER 6, 2006

The Bennington Township Regular Board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on November 6, 2006, 7:00pm at the Bennington Township Hall.

Present: Ray Wirth, Nancy Zdunic, Lee Ash, Donna Ash.

  Gerald Sayles was not present.

Wirth moved to approve the agenda as printed.  Second by L. Ash.  Motion carried.

Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the October 2, 2006 Regular Board meeting as printed.  Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members present in favor.  Motion carried.

L. Ash moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.  Second by Wirth.  Roll call vote: All board members present in favor.  Motion carried.

Zdunic moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $23,219.22.  Second by L. Ash.  Roll call vote: All board members present in favor.  Motion carried.

COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR:

Travis Smith - Questioned where the bid notice was printed for snow plowing of the Township Hall.  All Township publications are printed in the Sunday Independent unless it is a posting placed in coordination with the County. 

Jim Forsythe - Web Site Update.

BOARD REPORTS:

Sheriff’s Dept.- C. Carson- Report on file.

Ambulance/Fire- G. Hubbard- Run update.  Proposed 2007 budget includes 1.0 mills for fire protection.

Library- F. Gregory- Meeting is this Wednesday 11/8/06.  Rush Township has an item on the November ballot to withdraw from the Library.

Plan Comm- D. Ash- One land division.   L. Ash moved to concur with the Planning Commission and approve one land division for Eric Swanson on parent parcel #78-010-22-100-012.  Second by Zdunic.  Roll call vote: All board members present if favor.  Motion carried.

Roads- L. Ash- Rode with L. Latunski to check roads.  Brewer Rd. is complete for this year.  Ruess Rd tile will cost about $11,000 for tube and labor, will put on watch list.  Benn Twp will be an experimental Twp for spaying after mowing.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Cemetery Signs- Check with sign company for examples and price.

Cable Service- No new information.

NEW BUSINESS:

Burnham & Flower - Appraisal- Township received a free appraisal from Kenrick Property Services through Burnham and Flower.  The Township Hall was appraised at $443,000.00 with the garage appraised at $31,000.00.  

Drain Assessments- Received 2006 Special Assessments for County Drains. 


MTA Annual Meeting- November 21- Zdunic moved to have the Township pay for the Board members and Assessor to attend the MTA Annual at a cost of $10.00 per person.  Second by Wirth.  Roll call vote: All board members present in favor.  Motion carried.

Road Commission Annual- November 30.

Electronic Public Meeting Act- Check with MTA to see if this is included in the Public Meeting Act. 

Wirth moved to adjourn.  Second by Zdunic.  Motion carried.
