BENNINGTON TOWNSHIP

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

SEPTEMBER 6, 2006

 

The Bennington Township Regular Board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on September 6, 2006, 7:00pm at the Bennington Township Hall.

Present: Ray Wirth, Lee Ash, Gerald Sayles, Donna Ash.  Nancy Zdunic arrived at 7:20pm.  

Sayles moved to approve agenda as printed. Second by Wirth.  Motion carried.

L. Ash moved to approve minutes with correction of the web site address being bennington-township.org not benningtontownship.org.  Second by Wirth.  Roll call vote: All board member present in favor.  Motion carried.

Sayles moved to approve the Treasurer's report as printed.  Second by L. Ash.  Roll call vote: All board member present in favor.  Motion carried.

Wirth moved to pay bills as presented in the amount of $50,150.88. Second by Sayles.  Roll call vote: All Board members in favor. Motion carried.

COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR:

Jim Forsythe- would like the Township to consider the use of corrugated metal tiles for fire pits which are not currently listed within the Burning Ordinance Section 7.2.  This will be placed on the agenda for the next regular meeting.

Wayne Roszman- County Commissioner Update.

BOARD REPORTS:

Sheriffs Dept.- C. Carson present to answer any questions or concerns.

Fire/Ambulance- SSESA is currently working on an agreement with Byron/Burns for Ambulance Service.  Will provide the Township with the required IS 100 and 200 training on September 26, 2006, 9:00 am.  Budget hearing will be held September 18, 2006, 6:30 pm. Report on File.

Library- Report on file.

Plan Comm.- D Ash- Recommended 2 land divisions for approval.  Sayles moved to approve 2 land divisions for Gregory Fedchenko on parent parcel #78-010-02-400-003 and 4 divisions for Gary Oshust on parent parcel *78-010-11-200-002.  Second by Zdunic.  Motion carried.

Roads- L Ash.- Brewer Rd. ditching is done and the tubes and culverts are complete.   Cook Rd. is ditched and trees removed.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Pension Changes- Check with Burnham & Flower about having separate funds for money that is rolled in the account.

Web site - The web site is up and running.  The address is bennington-township.org.

NEW BUSINESS:

Cemetery Signs- Look at signs around the area and discuss at next meeting.

Cable Service- Waiting for information from Charter Cable for cost of hooking the Township Hall to cable and have Internet service.

Propane Bids- 4 Bids received.  Sayles moved to accept the lowest bid from Ferrellgas at $1.499 per gallon contracting 2000 gallons.  Second by Zdunic.  Roll call vote: All board member present in favor.  Motion carried.

L-4029- Zdunic moved to levy .8771 mills for operating and 1.25 mills for fire for 2006 winter taxes.  Second by L. Ash.  Roll call vote: All board member present in favor.  Motion carried.

Sayles moved to adjourn.  Second by Zdunic.  Motion approved.
