The Bennington Township Special Board Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on March 29, 2006, 1:30pm at the Bennington Township Hall.
Roll Call: Ray Wirth, Nancy Zdunic, Lee Ash, Gerald Sayles, Donna Ash.
Sayles moved to suspend with regular meeting procedure and move on to the business of the day. Second by Wirth. Motion carried.
Mr. Ron Salander present to discuss the damages done to Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Salander would like a statement as to the numbers of the buttons which were replaced so he could make sure that they were actually replaced. Mr. Salander stated that he would only pay for the actual cost of the replacement buttons which were destroyed, he was not going to pay for the survey. D. Ash moved to turn the issue of payment for damages to Oakwood Cemetery by Mr. Ron Salander over to the Township Attorney Lynn Bowne. Second by Sayles. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Salander requested that the Township Attorney deal directly with his attorney and to contact him for this information.
Sayles moved to pay year end bills, as presented, in the amount of $7,977.93. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
The year end budget was reviewed. All accounts were within budget accept for the Ambulance account. Will leave this for the auditor to correct. Sayles moved to approve the 2005 - 2006 year end budget as printed. Second by D. Ash. Motion carried.
L. Ash moved to accept the 2005 - 2006 preliminary budget for public hearing and review as printed. Second by Sayles. Motion carried.
Perry Township Supervisor Sid Grinnell spoke to the board of the need to replace a culvert on Miller Road. The culvert currently placed is not large enough to handle the water flow and is backing up on his residents. Bennington Township will further look into the need and the results of the added water upon residents in Benn. Twp. This is a cost share project with Perry Township.
