The Bennington Township regular board meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lee Ash on February 6, 2006, 7:00pm at the Bennington Township Hall
Present: Ray Wirth, Nancy Zdunic, Lee ash, Gerald Sayles, Donna Ash.
Sayles moved to approve the agenda as printed. Second by Wirth. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to approve the minutes for the January 2, 2006 as printed. Second by Sayles. Motion carried.
Sayles moved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Second by D. Ash. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Zdunic moved to pay bills in the amount of $17,818.08. Second by Sayles. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.

Sheriff Deputy C. Carson- Update- Report on file.
Perry Ambulance/Fire- G. Hubbard- Dec. 2005- 1 MFR, 2 ALS. Year End Totals- 26 Ambulance runs, 14 Fire, 53 MFR.
Library- F. Gregory- Report on file.
Plan Comm- D. Ash- Held meeting, no new business.
Roads- Road Comm. will be at the next meeting.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Ron Salander- Cemetery Issue- Send letter registered mail, if no response, turn over to attorney.
Pension Fund Costs- Set up a meeting to meet with Burnham & Flower.
NEW BUSINESS:
Charter Communications- Zdunic moved to not adopt the resolution request from Charter Communications in Support of Video Competition Everywhere. Second by L. Ash. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Wood hull Twp.- PMSA Request- Woodhull Twp has requested that Benn Twp support the retention of a realtor in order to sell the PMSA building. The PMSA Board is already working on this issue.
Bennington Greens Road Name Change- Zdunic moved to approve the change of Bennington Greens new road from Whitetail Lane to Bennington Greens Drive as requested by Shiawassee County Community Board, Gary Palmer. Second by Sayles. Motion carried.
Demis & Wenzlick Audit Contract- L. Ash moved to accept the contract from Demis & Wenzlick to perform the 2005-2006 Audit at a cost of $3400.00. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Parliamentarian Class- County is offering a Parliamentarian Class for anyone interested.
PMSA Update- Bills are up to date. Working on closing books.
Assessor Contract- Zdunic moved to accept the contract from Steve Schweikert for assessing services for three years with an increase of $500 per year, with the first year being $16,500.00. Second by Wirth. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried.
Annual Meeting Date- D. Ash moved to hold an annual meeting on March 30, 2006, 7:00pm with the Budget Hearing immediately following, at the Bennington Township hall. Second by Sayles. Roll call vote: Wirth- yes, Sayles-yes, L. Ash- yes, D. Ash-yes, Zdunic-no. Motion carried.
2006-2007 Meeting Dates- Zdunic moved to hold the 2006 - 2007 regular meetings on the first Monday of the month except when on a holiday. The exceptions will be July 5, September 5 and January 2. Second by L. Ash. Motion carried.
Salary Increase Resolution- Zdunic moved to adopt a resolution to have the 2006 - 2007 salaries of all elected officials remain the same. Second by Sayles. Roll call vote: All board members in favor. Motion carried. (Complete wording of resolution available at the Twp Hall).
Budget- There are no changes required for the current budget at this time.
2006 - 2007 Preliminary Budget- review budget for next meeting.
MTA meeting- February 7, 7:30pm, Caledonia Township Hall, Bennington Township will host.
Wirth received a phone call regarding the minutes being placed in the Argus Press instead of the Independent. Minutes are currently placed in the Sunday Independent which has a greater circulation within Bennington Township and is cheaper.
Sayles moved to adjourn. Second by Wirth. Motion carried.
